Welcome! Dao Drip helps you deepen your understanding of the Dàodéjīng
(Tao Te Ching) by placing multiple translations of the same chapter
side-by-side. The "drip" button gives you a new random chapter from the
selected translations. Their likeness and divergence reveal the nuance
of the original underlying source and the translator's voice.
Your reading history, translation selections and theme are saved locally
in your browser — there are no accounts and nothing is sent anywhere.
"Clear Local Storage" in settings resets all of it at once. You can
control the translation text size, card layout (grid or stacked), and
order (shuffled or whatever you set it to be), and choose to either
always load a new random chapter or pick up (resume) where you left
off.
The share button copies a link to the chapter you are on with your
current translators attached, so it opens the same way for whoever you
send it to. The search looks for a word or phrase in all translations
and each result takes you to the chapter and translations it appears in.
The library is where you choose which translators appear and in what
order, and helps you browse chapters by all, unread or starred.
